Agency Description:
HANAC has 9 ALE ESOL classes with an enrollment of 270 students. We offer classes at 3 sites: two in Astoria and one in Corona. We have open enrollment during the year.
Agency Highlight:
Javier came to HANAC to find out about our HSE program because he wanted to receive his High School Equivalency Diploma to go onto trade school to become a licensed electrician. We tested the student and he needed to improve his English in order to be able to take the Readiness test to enter the HSE class. He was a student in our level 5 ESL class for one year with Stephen. In the Fall , Javier was able to do well on the locator/ TABE test and entered into our HSE class.
He passed the readiness test and was able to take the TASC test and pass. He achieved his goal in attaining his High School Equivalency Diploma and is working towards becoming a licensed electrician.
