Agency Highlight:
Arkadiy D. came to the U.S in August 29, 2017 and just a few days later entered Rifka Farkas’s ESL class at the Shorefront Y with Level 1 English/ poor command of basic English. He was very shy and sat quietly in class, but our teacher brought him into active participation and he started improving rapidly and learned about ways of life here, customs, banking, travel, directions, etc.
Arkadiy became increasingly comfortable and started going to the doctor, the bank, post office, shopping, etc. on his own! We helped him pass his drivers permit and he passed his driving test and by this past December, Arkadiy felt he was ready to get a job as a driver. He got a CDL license and went to interviews with an ambulette companies to get a job. And he did!
