Agency Description:
Queens Community House offers a broad range of family and community services reflective of our ongoing commitment to fostering strong, stable, and self-sufficient families and communities throughout Queens. Our Adult Education Program offers English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes for adults. In our interactive classes, students learn English while learning useful information for their roles as parents, workers, job seekers, and future voters. Students learn English grammar, practical information, and technology skills that they can use as soon as they leave the classroom. Classes are both during the day and in the evening. We enroll over 300 students every year in our ALE-funded program in Forest Hills, Queens.
Agency Highlight:
We take a lot of pride in our multilingual staff and teachers that reflect the cultural diversity of the population we serve. In September 2018, our teaching team was joined by two new part-time teachers, Pietro Gonzalez and Yulduz Razikova. Members of our small team speak English, Spanish, Russian, Uzbek, Tagalog, Polish, Italian, Bahasa Indonesia, and Chinese.
