CUNY Bronx Community College Adult Education and Training Program

Agency Description:
The program serves approximately 125 students in ESOL levels 1, 2 and 3 in the daytime from 9:30 to 1:30 and Levels 1 and 2 from 6 to 9 PM. All classes meet three days per week. Classes run from September to June. Intake is conducted at least three times per year and interested students must call for a registration appointment.
Agency Highlight:
In the advanced ALE class taught by Vanessa Williams, several students applied to CUNY and were accepted. At least 3 will start in the Spring 2018 and 2 more in the Fall of 2018. During the cycle , students participated in workshops about the CUNY application process as well as CLIP (CUNY Language Immersion Program) which aided in their decision/application process. Other students in the class are motivated as they see their fellow classmates pursue their goals of higher education and these students will return to share their college experience with their peers.
